Vegetable garden
To make the children's diet more balanced and healthy, fresh fruit and vegetables are grown at the school. This project also promotes healthy eating habits and food awareness among the students.
What is our goal?
The school vegetable garden was established in July 2021 and aimed to solve the nutritional problems of both the school and society after food prices rose in 2020 due to the direct impact of the Corona pandemic.
The organic and healthy vegetables are also intended to solve the problems caused by chemicals such as herbicides and fertilizers for both humans (food poisoning) and soil (soil erosion).
The school vegetable garden project aims to support students in improving their health and wellbeing through growing crops and healthy eating. The school garden is a wonderful way to use the school yard as a classroom.
The School Vegetable Gardens Project is a fun, hands-on learning program that provides enjoyable learning about food and environmental protection. Through strong integration into the curriculum, students learn to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal and delicious food - developing positive food habits for life.

Science laboratory
To support practical learning in science lessons, we would like to set up a small science laboratory that is tailored to the Tanzanian primary school curriculum. The laboratory will serve pupils of all grades and promote understanding in the fields of environmental science, physics and biology, as well as the development of research skills.
The project components are broken down as follows: The most important items needed for practical activities include batteries, magnets, light bulbs, wires, switches, Petri dishes and a variety of other small ‘basics’ in larger quantities. Safety equipment consists of safety goggles, gloves and a first aid kit. Additions tailored to the curriculum include, for example, a human skeleton, various model kits (e.g. for turbines) and other useful teaching aids. A real compound microscope for introducing the basics of microscopy is the final part of this project.
What is our goal?
These components could be used to teach the pupils at Bethlehem School both the basics of scientific research and the application of physical laws and biological processes. The project is a unique opportunity to put what has been learned into practice and give the children exciting insights into how our world works.

Schoolbooks
This project aims to provide schoolbooks to Bethlehem Primary School. Currently, parents are responsible for purchasing schoolbooks, but many families face financial difficulties and are unable to do so. As a result, teachers often have to rely on blackboard work or lengthy group work, which significantly impairs learning efficiency.
This initiative aims to provide 18 books per subject for each year group, which can be reused and passed on each year.
With more school books, teaching and learning outcomes for pupils at Bethlehem Star Pre and Primary School could be improved in the long term.

Well construction - 4000 €
Bethlehem Primary School does not yet have a reliable drinking water supply, as the water available is heavily contaminated and undrinkable. A deeper well is urgently needed to provide the pupils with clean and safe water.
